Season “How to Make 250K Per Year” · Episode 2

Buying time

Do · 1 November 2026

Buying time is the best thing I can do with money. Someone who looks after the flat buys me hours. The math is simple: if the hour costs €50 and I earn €70 or €150 with mine, the difference is the margin. That people who keep homes in order earn so little in our society makes the math easy, and it's still not right. More important than the price is the second question: does the hour of cleaning give me anything itself, do I learn something from it? Not me, and that's a decision everyone makes for themselves. The exception: what relaxes me isn't a burden, so I do it myself. To be honest about it: as long as I sell the bought hour again to pay for it, I've only swapped, at a better rate. It's only free when the money comes in anyway and I can do whatever I want with the hour.

Do the math for yourself, two questions: What does the hour you buy cost, and what does yours earn or mean? And: does the task itself give you anything, do you learn something from it? Two noes, then buy the hour.
